In Grade 1, instructional time should focus on four critical areas:
1. Operations and algebraic thinking;
2. Numbers and operations in base ten;
3. Measurement and data;
4. Geometry.
We are using a new program this year: iReady Math. This math program is designed to allow students to take ownership of their learning. it is very discussion based with students and teachers talking about how they go their answers and how there is usually more than one way to get the correct answer.
